Wolves and Fireflies Sculpture

Wow, this was quite an involved sculpture! I think I may need to take a break from sculpting anymore wolves for a bit after this one. XD

This was a commission for , depicting a scene from her story. I really loved painting all the different markings on each of the wolves, and those tiny fireflies are pretty cute! Just for fun, I even gave the fireflies a coating of glow-in-the-dark paint. It's a bit hard to tell, but the lower photo kind of shows how they glow.

The wolves, fireflies and rock formation are sculpted from Super Sculpey/Sculpey Firm polymer clay over foil armatures. There are painted with a acrylic paints and sealed using Testor's Dullcote and Varathane's Water-based Polyurathane. They are mounted on a wooden base that has been stained, and model kit turf was added for grass.
