Luxray Sculpture WIP by LeiliaK Luxray Sculpture WIP by LeiliaK
It's been a while since I posted a work in progress on one of my sculptures, so I thought I would show a sneak peak at the next big sculpture I'm working on!

Luxray is huuuuge, guys. I'm pretty sure he's my biggest Pokemon sculpture to date. He's about 6 inches long from nose to tail, and around 3 inches tall.

Speaking of Luxray, everyone should go wish :icontheharley: a happy birthday! And if you aren't following her already, I demand that you do, she makes the most adorable Pokemon amigurumi! :D

Made from Super Sculpey polymer clay over a wire and foil armature.

Really cool pose! Seeing a work in progress is awesome, sculptures often look really nice in their unpainted state since the shadows show so perfectly!

Aw thanks so much! :D I agree, I love the way sculptures look before they are painted. It's also one of the reasons I prefer working with solid colors instead of colored clay. I think it really helps to understand the shape and anatomy of the figure when you don't have to worry about adding the colors at the same time. ;)

Looking good! Your sculpts always looks so smooth. Mine have dents in and finger prints all over :hmm:

Aw, thanks! Ahaha, oh man, you have nooo idea how hard I struggle with those dang dents, especially on this guy! Every time I'd pick him up to smooth out one part, I'd end up leaving dents on another part, so infuriating! >< He's still not quite a smooth as he appears in this photo, so I ended up sanding him some as well.

That's the one nice thing about doing fur texturing, it seems to mask some of those dents and finger prints pretty well in my experience. ;)

Haha! Yeah fur texturing covers a multitude of sins!
