It's been a while since I've done a full sculpture that is completely for myself, so recently I decided to sit down and create an updated sculpture of my Welsh springer spaniel character.  I have to be honest, I absolutely love how this sculpture came out!

This is the first time I've portrayed Leilia in a more anthro type style.  I've been wanting to develop a style for anthro sculptures for a bit now, so of course my character gets to be the guinea pig. ;)  I've always been drawn to a more toony/chibi style for anthros, and I took a lot of inspiration from fursuits and such.  I will be offering character commissions done in this style for anyone that might be interested.

Leilia measures about 2.5in tall. She was sculpted from Super Sculpey/Sculpey Firm over a wire and foil armature, painted with acrylic paints, and sealed with a matte finish.  The eyes and nose were glazed for extra shine.
