1. What's your best Christmas memory?
(sorry, this is a long story, haha) When I was in 3rd grade, I desperately wanted a puppy for Christmas. I begged and begged my parents and wrote letters to Santa(yes, I still believed in Santa, hush!). On Christmas day I woke up and raced to the tree, imagining a scene from a movie, with a playful puppy under the tree with a big ribbon. When I got there, there was no real puppy, only a big stuffed dog and a few other wrapped gifts. I was devastated, thinking Santa got confused and got me a fake puppy instead of a real one(lol). As I opened each gift I got more depressed. Then, at the end, my parents presented me with a small box. Inside was a leash, collar, and dog breed book, with a note from "Santa" stating that I could have a puppy, but my parents and I would pick out the breed and puppy together that would best match our lifestyle. After the holidays, we researched breeds and met with several breeders and decided on a little female English springer spaniel. I named her Lucy, and she was the best dog that ever lived. The End. -Side note-As an adult, I am very against people getting puppies for their kids for Christmas, it is usually a decision made without much thought, and the holidays are a very hectic time to bring a puppy into the home, among other concerns. The way my parents presented this gift to me was brilliant, and I often tell people thinking about adding a dog to their family as a gift to consider this option. 2. What was your favorite toy as a kid?
Oh gosh, I had a lot of favorite toys, haha! One thing I used to collect was the Little Pet Shop toys(I'm talking 1990s style, before they got the weird faces and big heads). I had so many, but my favorite was a white husky, who I named Gus after the husky from Iron Will. I have no idea what happened to Gus and all my other Littlest Pet Shop toys, but I found a photo of the toy on Pinterest(he's the one in the middle):www.pinterest.com/pin/14481894…3.
